Going to Paris tomorrow .. Help!!

We%26#39;ve booked a last minute break to Paris, going tomorrow and staying in Hotel du Cadran. Can you help us to get the best from our stay ... best places to eat out, what we must do, cheapest/easiest way to travel, etc. Anything/Everything gratefully received! Also we are flying into Beauvais ... shuttle into Paris I believe ... where does it let us off in Paris itself? Thanks so much!

The shuttle drops you off at Porte Maillot. From there you should take M° line n° 1 and change at %26quot;Concorde%26quot; to M° line n° 8 direction %26quot;Balard%26quot; and get off at %26quot;Ecole militaire%26quot;. Hotel du Cadran is just around the corner.

Get off the station on Eiffel tower side, walk down the first street right (Avenue Bosquet) and then right into rue du champs de mars and there you are. It is the cheapest way also even if a taxi from porte maillot shouldn%26#39;t exceed 10 €.

This part of Paris is quite calm in the evening even if you have some bars/restaurants on rue Cler but you have really good access to almost everything. Ask the concierge for a map of Paris and metro map, also he should be able to give you some directions for the first day.

You are so fortunate to be able to take a last minute break to Paris! That is pretty impossible to do on a budget from the US! I am assuming you are not going to be there for a week or longer, so I would recommend getting %26quot;Carnets%26quot; for the metro while in Paris. This is 10 tickets you can share and it does save you money off the single purchase ticket price and saves you from having to get tickets each time you get on.

Have you ever been to Paris? If not, you may want to take an overview tour such as L%26#39;Open bus tour to get familiarized with the city. This can be purchased just about anywhere and it is a hop on/hop off system.

I am not familiar with your hotel and where it is located. For restaurant recommendations you will find tons of info on this board if you just do a search for restaurants. I don%26#39;t know price range you are looking in either. I can recommend a good guide book to take along with you to Paris and a good elaminated fold out map which will be invaluable!! Take lots of walks, especially in the Montmartre, Marais and Latin quarter/St. Germain areas. I am sure you probably already know which major sights you want to see, but the walks will be one of the highlights of your trip!

Bon Voyage!
