Family Holiday!

We are a family of 5 (kids-17,15 %26amp; 13)We are travelling on a round the world ticket in April this year, from Australia and planning to stop @ NICE as one of our destinations:- The plan is to travel directly to Frejus from the Airport, stay at La Baume Camp site between 3/4 nights (flexible at this stage)possibly stay one night in Nice before leaving for the remainder of our trip. We would be greatful for information in regards to:

1. The weather....will we freeze this time of the year in a camp site (Mobile Home)??

2. Hiring a car? Would this be recommended rather than relying on bus, trains etc.

3. What tours are available and can be recommended?

4. Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thanking you in advance

Hi,

Weather - as in most of europe in April the weather can be very changable - I%26#39;ve been to the south of france in march and had a lovely sunbathing day similarly i%26#39;ve been in may and its been freezing cold. In general i%26#39;d pack for all eventualities including snow but for the most part i would expect to wear jeans and jumper or a light jacket. Make sure your sleeping bag is well equipped as well if your camping as it could be very cold at night.

Transport - I would advise hiring a car over relying on public transport which can be limited in places. If your driving from the airport and are not pushed for time the drive along the coast road - passing through Antibes, Cannes and round the spectacular cost line is amasing and not to be missed. Similarly if you don%26#39;t want to hire a car then get the train rather than the bus which does this same route.

Places to visit - St Maxime and St Tropez, the islands off of cannes are really good as well and i%26#39;d recommend spending 2 nights in Nice and then doing a day trip to Monaco - where you can stand in the grand prix tunnel and people watch at the cafe de paris and then head over the boarder into italy for pasta. There is also this big kind of theame park water place in frejus that looks fun but I think its only open in the summer. Overall there is loads of stuff to do in that area and you could spend weeks there if you had the time.
