First Night Restaurant on the 5th

Do you have suggestions for a good first night restaurant close to Hotel des Jardins du Luxembourg (5, impasse Royer Collard, Paris 75005)?

We plan on doing some light walking the first day, so anything around Luxembourg Gardens and/or Pantheon would be nice.

Thanks.

Hello Jutiapa,

My first choice would be: Le Petit Pontoise 9, rue de Pontoise. Very good fresh cuisine from the terroir and not expensive at all. It is a small restaurant and often full, so you would be better to reserve.

There is also a brasserie not far from you hotel at 49, rue des Ecoles, it is called Le Balzar. The decor is 1930ish and the menu is the regular brasserie fare.

Jutiapa - I highly recommend La Maison du Jardin on 27 rue de Vaugirard. We ate there twice during our visit in November. Here%26#39;s what I wrote at the time...

La Maison du Jardin - a gem hidden away by Luxembourg Gardens on Rue Vaugirard. So good we ate here twice. Very Parisian, family owned, 30 seats in a charming setting. The food is lovingly prepared. Highlights were Ox cheeks that were so tender they almost melted in my mouth, curried prawns w/avocado, roasted cod, margret canard and pork terrine.

Your hotel is just East of the gardens off of Blvd St Michel - the restaurant is just north of the gardens on the fronting road (Vaugirard) - I%26#39;d approzimate an easy 10 minute walk.

You might take a walk down rue Moufettard

and have a look at about 30 different restaurants. The top of the street begins

close to the Pantheon.
