Help! I am taking my mother and her husband to Paris as a surprise for her 50th birthday at the beginning of February. I would like to book her and her husband into a very romantic restaurant for one of the nights we are there. We are staying in the Saint Germain area so somewhee near there if possible, traditional French food and no more than approx EUR200-EUR250 for dinner for 2 including wine.
Any suggestions much appreciated as I am really sruggling with this one.

1728 is about the most romantic restaurant in the city. It is within budget, but not in the neighborhood you were looking for. www.galerie-1728.com
In the St Germain area:
Le Bamboche is romantic haute cuisine, a bit off the beaten path www.lebamboche.com
Les Bouquinists is a food fantasy over seen by one of the top chefs in the city with an elegant setting. www.lesbouquinistes.com
La Cigale is a souffle place that is sure to please and it is also quite elegant and relaxing. 4, rue Récamier (M)Sèvres Babylone 01 45 48 86 58

I agree with all of Phread%26#39;s suggestions. However, I was just in Paris last week and Les Bouquinistes was either closed permanently or undergoing MAJOR renovations. If it is the latter, then there was no sign indicating this...so sad. Does anyone know?
