Best place to stay in Paris

My husband and I are taking a 10 day trip the end of April to Paris, then Provence, then finish in Rome. Got some good advice from Trip Advisor for Rome - need help with Paris. What is the best place to stay in Paris? Looking for quaint but not too expensive. Close to attractions but not too noisy. Plan on spending 4 days there.

Hello Newsjunkie, In July I stayed at the Tryp François and absolutely loved it! Right outside the door is the Métro (grands Boulevards), and hotel is located on Boulevard Montmartre, which turns into Boulevard Haussmann, where Galeries Lafayette is located. Five minute walk, tops. The Opèra Garnier is also a quick walk away. Lots of little cafés and restaurants closy by, including the Hard Rock Paris, which is right across the street. Bustling neighborhood in the day and night; however, even though our room overlooked the street, it was as if we were looking onto an inner courtyard, it was so quiet, what with the double glazed windows. Friendly staff too. Moderate price, I think it was around 200.00$ a night. On this website it is only two stars, however it is really a three star hotel. Well worth the money.

Look at the best western hotels.

I like the Folkestone on rue de Castellane near metro Madeleine (3 lines) and also Havre-Caumartin and Gare St Lazare.

Dear Newsjunkie,

I, too, have liked Bestwestern hotels in Paris. They are easy to book. However, I hated the Folkestone, and was miserable there. I did, however, like the Jardin de Cluny, located in the 5th( the Latin Quarter.) It is on a quiet street and close to many of the Left Bank sights as well as a Metro station.

I don%26#39;t know what your price range is, but I also highly recommend the Relais du Louvre, located one block from the Seine on the Right Bank and across from the Louvre. It is charming and close to the attractions on both sides of the river.

Bon chance and bon voyage!
