Celebrating my 50th birthday in Paris

We(husband and 5 year old daughter) are celebrating my birthday in Paris enroute to the Auvergne region to stay in a chateau. What do you recommend as a great food/environment restaurant (old fashioned Paris bistro) that is ok for child, great on character and food but not a killer in the pocketbook.

We are staying at Hotel des Grandes Ecoles, but will travel to whatever part of Paris for a special place! Merci

Congratulations on staying in one of

my favorite hotels in Paris, I think

the 3 of you will really enjoy it.

There are many restaurants in the 5th

and 6th.

For convenience (you can walk to them),

there are many restaurants on rue Mouffetard.

Some are obviously tourist traps but I am

sure that you and your 5 year old could

find one that suits your needs.

Best Wishes

Le Vin Sobre is a nice neighborhood joint, walking distance from your hotel. The menu changes daily, everything is always market fresh and excellent. The staff is friendly and kids are welcome.

We stayed at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles and loved it and the neighborhood. On return visit last year for Christmas we rented an apartment very close to the hotel. Both times we have eaten at Le jardin d%26#39;artemis on rue mouffetard. It is one of our favorite places to ead. Small, warm, charming and not too expensive. Have a great trip
