Post Paris -sharing the highlights of our trip with teens

I just wanted to give some feedback on our wonderful trip to Paris. Thank you to all those that not only gave advice to me, but also helped my daughter who was the event planner. The Henri IV hotel was wonderful. I cannot fault it. The people were warm and friendly and our triple room on the 6th floor had wonderful views to the Eiffel Tower which had those two teens sqealing in delight! The location was terrific. We were just moments from Notre Dame (which we could also see from our little balcony). The girls%26#39;(aged 16) favourite activities were: the Moulin Rouge show (number 1), ice skating ON the Eiffel Tower and at the Hotel De Ville, D%26#39;Orsay museum, the fashion parade at Printemps, the artists at Monmartre and shopping. The places they most enjoyed shopping were the Champs Elysees, St Germaine, Rue de Rivoli, and Galerie Lafayette (especially the basement level). Their fave stores were Etam, Promod, H%26amp;M, Quiksilver, Galerie Lafayette. They especially like the Rue De Rivoli which was very close to where we were staying and had endless %26#39;teen-type%26#39; stores. The weather was cold but we found that our jeans, woollen sweaters, warm down jackets with the appropriate accessories were fine. We felt very comfortable traveling and as we became oriented, I was happy to let the girls make short excursions alone while I sipped kir royales nearby.

Hope this is helpful to anyone traveling to Paris with teen girls. Feel free to reply if I can help further

This was very good information for me, as I am going to Paris in April with girls aged 13/16, staying at rue de Richelieu, which I think is close to rue de Rivoli. Was interested in the Moulin Rouge part, what kind of show is it? I thought it was more of a adult type of show.

Travelbunny:

Thanks for the post. Our 13yo has never seen Printemps fashion show. Can you fillin in particulars: day of week, time, cost?

Thanks!

From memory, Printemps is Tuesday at 10am and Galerie Lafayette is Friday at 10 or 10.30. They are both free

With regars to the Moulin Rouge show...it was really something! Very colorful and varied...don%26#39;t want to say too much without giving it away. We were a little surprised to see lots of flesh! And then fascinated to see such variety but the girls LOVED the show. There were some animals, gymnastic and mime as well.

Thank you so very much for the tips. I will get on and do some searching for the Henri IV. We will be traveling in July, but it sounds like the cold weather didn%26#39;t stop you from having fun....thanks again.
