Airport for Disney Paris?

In doing preliminary research on discount airfares from Ireland for our Mouseketeer adventure, we are faced with a choice of Ryan Air into Beauvais or Aer Lingus into DeGaulle. Beauvais is a couple hundred euros cheaper. Is it significantly less convenient to get to the theme park? We tentatively plan to rent a car so we can tour Paris as well. Thoughts?

Beauvais is 78 km from paris in the opposite direction of Disney so it%26#39;s quite a ways from disney. Of course if you are driving then it wouldnt be so bad. Its about 130 km from Beauvais airport to Disney. CDG to Disney is 50km. If you have to take public transportation from Beauvais I would discourage you. You have to take a bus into Paris then take the RER out to Disney. Would be a very long trip, probably about 2h30 mins or 3 hours door to door plus carrying luggage is not that fun in the RER because of stairs and turnsitles.

From CDG there is the VEA bus direct to disney which takes about 1 hour or less and there is the bullet train TGV which is direct and takes 10 minutes.

As far as the car is concerned, you dont really need one in Paris. You can take the RER directly into the city. Parking and traffic are major issues in Paris. Of course you could drive in and park the car in a public underground parking lot, leave it for the day and then pick it back up on your way out. Its about a 40 or 45 min drive into central paris if you avoid rush hour. Double that time for rush hour.

Great information! Based on your comments, our idea is to fly into CDG and then take public transportation to Disney, have BIG fun there for four days, then public transportation back to Paris. Thanks for your help. The bullet train sounds like a blast. What is the least expensive way to ride it?

Glad to be of help. If you want to ride the TGV, there are a few things to know. There is about one train per hour, the last train is a little before 9pm and various discounts can be had if you are booking more than one ticket or are traveling with a child.

You can check prices at http://www.voyages-sncf.com. Look for the english flag at the bottom of the page. Your departure is %26quot;Roissy%26quot; and your destination is %26quot;Marne la Vallee%26quot;. You can also book your tickets online. The TGV station is directly connected to terminals 2C, 2D, 2E, and 2F so if you are flying into any of those you can simply walk to the train station. If you fly into terminals 2A or 2B you can either walk through terminals C or D and onward to the train station or catch a bus on the sidewalk outside. From terminals 1 and 3 you must take a bus.

You can either buy your tickets from automatic machines located in the station or from the ticket counter. The automatic machines can be fussy with foreign credit cards so dont be surprised if they wont work. The ticket counter is large and be sure to line up on the RIGHT side as the left queue is for people traveling to downtown Paris.

You can book and pay for your tickets on the net and bring the reference number with you as well as the credit card you used, to get the tickets from the counter or out of the machine. The odds are you can get the same price at the counter as on the net in advance UNLESS the trains are really full.
