Suggestions for centrally located Hotels in Paris?

My husband and I are buying a trip package that has us staying at the Villa St Martin (near the Gare de l%26#39;Est) for our first few nights in Paris, but we are considering, for the second half of our extended trip, more centrally located and perhaps someplace a little less expensive, but of a similar caliber (not super-budget in terms of quality)....any suggestions?

My husband also read something that said to try and talk the hotels down in price . . . is that common?

We%26#39;re looking to pay around 100 Euros/night (or less).

Thanks!!!

Also, is Villa St. Martin in walking distance or should we catch the Metro? How much is the metro per person each way?

I would not advise trying to talk a hotel down in price. I would look at their normal prices on their website, then email them with dates and preferred room type, and ask for their %26#39;best rate%26#39;. Then take it or leave it.

You can look at Tripadvisor%26#39;s list of hotels for under $100, pick some central ones with good reviews and go for that. Central = arrondissments 1-8, most prefer 3rd,4,5,6th...

The À la VILLA SAINT MARTIN (3-star) 27, rue des Recollets (btween rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin %26amp; rue Lucien Sampaix) 75010, Metro: GARE d%26#39;EST (lignes #4,5 %26amp; 7)--

Your best bet for determining %26#39;..walking distances..%26#39; is to locate your hotel on the Paris street map you%26#39;ve been using to help you research and plan your visit (you%26#39;ve already got a good one, right?) and then find its relative location to the sites and attractions of Paris which interent you most. You might also acquaint yourself with the several public bus routes which service this immediate neighborhood along either rue du Faubourg Saint Martin or Blvd. de Strausbourg or those serving the beneral vicinity (Be sure to pick up a copy of the RATP%26#39;s free %26#39;..#2--PARIS-GRAND PLAN--Lignes et Rues..%26#39; RER/METRO/Bus map at any Metro station ticket window)

For more centrally situated hotels within your general price range, consider (among many) these--
