Does anyone have any experience renting a cell phone from this company? Rentals are 7.00 euro per day plus prepaid time. Rates showing for calls to the US are 0.40 cents and incoming free. Plus they deliver the phone to your hotel and pick it up for free. Sounds really good!

I don%26#39;t know your company but I posted this information elsewhere, in case you find other options within the note:

I mentioned early into this thread that I use my T-Mobile phone in the US and in Europe ($0.99/min in Europe). They told me they want to see 3 billing periods from a new customer before they activate the International Roam service. We don%26#39;t talk much on the phone, just check the petsitter, and for quick calls during travel. Even though the per-minute rate is high, our overall expense is very low, ie. $20-30 per trip which is lower than anything you can buy or rent, even with a local SIM.
Next I bought a Mobal phone for $49 that we use only in Europe - it has a UK-based SIM and calls are around $1.50-2.00/minute. We use the 2 phones to contact each other when we separate during our trips. Again, our total phone expense using BOTH phones for a 9-day trip to Paris came to under $30 (+$49 one-time cost of the 2nd phone). We made right about 10 very brief calls. (Note: this scenario means that BOTH phones incur a charge as fees apply for incoming AND outgoing calls).
I%26#39;m happy with this arrangement. T-Mobile works fine in my area of Florida, the travel/phone expense is reasonable, the 2 phones are convenient and perform well, the phone numbers never change and I don%26#39;t have to %26quot;top up%26quot; minutes to keep the SIM active nor change SIMS for different countries.
