Visited Carcassonne in mid-November %26#39;05. I can%26#39;t say enough about this old walled city. It%26#39;s huge (59 towers), well-restored and well-cared for and it is a truly amazing experience. Our trip (together with a short stay in the Dordogne area - Sarlat in particular), was something my family will fondly remember the rest of our lives. Just beautiful. If you want something medievil and very special, you might want to do some web-searching to learn about and then visit these story-book towns of the Dordogne and Languedoc regions. Happy trails.

If you loved it then you should go on Bastille Day and see the most beautiful magical fireworks over the castle! It is the best in France!

Carcassonne was great. Felt like we were in a true movie. We stayed outside the walls (actually near the train station) so it%26#39;d be cheaper. If you go down there, you won%26#39;t regret it! (Unless you don%26#39;t give yourself enough time to see it all)
