Hi. I am leaving for Paris in a few weeks with one of my closest friends. She has asthma that is sometimes triggered by cigarette smoke. Could anyone please recommend some non-smoking cafes, bistro%26#39;s, restaurants etc? I don%26#39;t recall smoke being too much of a problem the first time I was in Paris but I want to be prepared in case my friend%26#39;s asthma flares up. Thanks for your help.

Le Florimond is totally non-smoking and gets consistently good recommendations from the Fodor crowd.

Thanks...I actually ate at Le Florimond on my last trip to Paris and I thought the food was very good. The Maitre%26#39;d (sp?) was very nice and explained the French menu to my friend and I in detail. Will definitely have to return on this trip (we leave in less than 2 weeks, yippee!).

Thanks so much for asking this question! I did not know it was so easy to escape the smoke in Paris. Although I had a harder time in Rome! I noticed one of my very favorite restaurants was on the list:
Au de Gourmet D%26#39;Ille, a wonderful little restaurant on the Île St-Louis.
