Paris Experience

I%26#39;m searching a wedding gift for my friends who will go to Paris for their honeymoon in February time. Since they dont have a wedding list, I would like to buy them an experience in Paris instead. Any suggestion?

My first choice would be to book them a personal tour guide for a entire day.

Champagne, chocolat and huge bouquet of flowers for their honeymoon suite is also romantic.

Good tickets to the Opera or ballet.

I am sure the others will have a lot of selection.

A driver for the day could be appreciated. The metro is just grand, but being chauffered from place to place is pretty luxurious.

Otherwise, why not reserve a nice dinner for them and organize to have your credit card debited. There are plenty of options that would be nice for newly weds and they don%26#39;t all have to break the bank.

A cooking class with Anne Sfez could be nice, too. If they are into food.

But personally, I%26#39;m with Luc on this one. Fine chocolates, champagne and flowers in my room spell romance to me.

I like Lucky%26#39;s idea of a guided tour day. Paris can be overwhelming if you haven%26#39;t been before. Imagine how much stress it would relieve to have someone help them buy their metro passes, show them the lay out of the city, point out some romantic spots they can visit on their own later. Giving them peace of mind and relaxation is priceless.

Dinner/Seine cruise would be a splendid gift.

Thanks all for the advice. I think they are all good. For the fine restaurant option, do you have any recommendation?

|||

Dinner/Seine cruise are boat trips that offer dinner while they cruise the Seine. You can make a google search, try vedettes/Seine, bateaux/Seine or try a search in this forum.

|||

compare to Dinner at Eiffel Tower or Moulin Rouge Show, do you think Dinner/Seine cruise is a better gift option?

|||

Dinner at the tower it%26#39;s also grand, but you might be a little late for a dinner reservation in the tower, although February is not a high tourism season and with some luck.... Another thing it%26#39;s the logistic I really don%26#39;t know if they extend gift certificates or how can you go about paying for your friends dinner w/o actually giving them the cash for it. Maybe one of our experts may answer this last part for you.

In the other hand I prefer the Lido over the Moulin Rouge albeit the latter one is more famous.

P.S. Dinner at the Tour can easily double the dinner/cruise in cost especially at the Jules Vernes.Dinner/show is also much more expensive.

It depends if they are into to food. The Seine/dinner cruise is the kind of thing that you do once in your life to say you%26#39;ve done it. The food is good, but nothing that you%26#39;d remember. Many people suggest a nice dinner, followed by a cruise later in the evening.

The Jules Verne is on the ET. There is something magic about dining with Paris at your feet and they have a Michelin star. Another, more affordable option would be dinner at the Cafe de l%26#39;Homme, across the Seine from the ET. In this case they%26#39;d be dining in a very environment with the ET in full view, also pretty magic. http://cafedelhomme.com/

The Moulin Rouge could be fun, too.

ps you are a very good friend!
