My 18 year old daughter is planning a high school graduation trip to Paris this summer with several friends. We are trying to establish a budget and determine the best accommodations. My wife and I were in Paris this summer and we are generally familiar with the arrondissements, however, we are looking for budget hotels or youth hostels. Safety is the priority(at least mine). Thanks in advance for your responses!

There has been some hostel discussion before, a search in this forum may prove helpful.
The best would be for your daughter to research Paris Hostels, come up with a selection of two or three and then come to the forum asking what we know of the establishments and areas.

I don%26#39;t have any first hand experience with hostels in Paris but I know hostelz.com is a good website to check for listings and reviews. I think Paris, similar to NYC, will have some of the best hostels in perhaps the less central locations.
One major %26quot;heads up%26quot; is it depends on how many friends are going. You may find budget hotels are less expensive than paying a per person fee in a good hostel.
Jack-travel.com has some good info on budget hotels (and apts. but not sure that%26#39;s a good idea or that anyone would rent to them).
Remember many budget places won%26#39;t have a/c. Paris can get very hot. Sounds like a fun adventure. I hope the girls do most of the plannning. ;)
