jan 10 anyone have any information about these hotels on the left bank? hotel saint dominique, hotel grand leveque, hotel du palais bourbon

Well, what kind of information? There are reviews on them - did you read those..?
Leveque is popular - street rooms will have early morning noise from market setting up
Palais bourbon - isn%26#39;t that one a good bit more expensive? not sure it has many cafes around, but read the reviews
Saint Dominique - only neg I ever read about it was evening noise due to bar/club near it
Hotel Muguet is a nice hotel(www.paris-hotel-muguet.com) - also, look at Hotel de France, by Invalides (www.hoteldefrance.com)

These hotels are all in the 7eme-Ecole Militaire/Invalides neighborhood. With the exception of the rue Cler %26#39;enclave%26#39; here, this general neighborhood will be largely institutional/commercial/residential (and will be VERY quiet after 6 PM--and though located on the Left Bank...not especially what most people think of when they think %26#39;..Left Bank, Paris..%26#39;....but the Eiffel Towewr is within strolling/walking distance.
If the 7eme is your preference, then try adding the HÔTEL du CHAMP de MARS (2-star) to your list of possibilities in this neighborhood to check out--
