Anyone stayed at the camp site on Plage D'Arone?

Hi - my husband and I have booked our flights to Corsica for the last 2 weeks in June and I%26#39;ve been trying to find somewhere half decent to stay around Piana but everywhere seems quite expensive, our flights were £190 and accomodation is around £1,000 for 14 nights! We love camping and are considering staying at the campsite near Plage D%26#39;arone. Has anyone been there? Would you recommend it? Or would anyone know budget but ok self-catering accomodation for a couple around Porto/Calvi? Thanks!

Not stayed at that campsite but it gets a good write up in books. There%26#39;s not much at Plage d%26#39;Arone apart from the beach.

Did you try the Hotel Continental in Piana? Make sure you ask for room only as even half board anywhere on Corsica can be very expensive. There are some reasonably cheap eating places in Piana.

There is a campsite just outside Cargese which is closer to amenities. Camping Toraccia is on the Piana road and also has self-catering wood cabins for hire. Not stayed there but it looked OK from the outside.

If you are near Cargese, I can recommend the Hotel St Jean for a meal. It%26#39;s a very popular place with resonable prices. (I%26#39;m always quite reluctant to recommend eating places in case they have changed hands!)

Thank you so much for your reply - the wooden chalets at camping torricani look brilliant and are nicely priced.

They have a good website too.

We%26#39;ll definitely look at staying there.

Would you by any chance know anywhere down south which is similar?
