I know it's a long shot, but.....

has anyone stayed at this apartment http://vrbo.com/66677. It looks just what we six (females) are looking for for a first and long awaited trip to Paris. It%26#39;s in the 6th Arrondissement which from reading this forum seems a good, convenient area.

Two would have to share the king bed, if that%26#39;s ok... but a %26quot;French double%26quot; is just a tad bigger than a twin, and the two that share that bed had best be very good friends.

Thanks travelnutty, still smiling at your reply. Yeah, we%26#39;re good friends but maybe not that good!!!

|||

Maybe you could ask the owner if they%26#39;d bring in another twin bed. It looks like a beautiful apartment!

|||

Thanks la Cavaliere, that%26#39;s a good idea. Why didn%26#39;t I think of it!! Maybe it would help too to know the size of a french double bed. Two of us shared a standard double in Prague and it was fine.

Single/Twin = 90 cm. (36%26quot;)

French double = 120 cm (47%26quot;)

Standard double = 140 cm. (56%26quot;)

Queen = 160 cm. (64%26quot;)

King = 180 cm. (72%26quot;)

Sorry...haven%26#39;t stayed there but it%26#39;s easy enough to determin it%26#39;s exact location and relative convenience to the rest of Paris by simply enterring rue MAYET, 75006 in the PAGES JAUNES web sit and looking at the local street map and photos--

thanks for all the info. Thanks travelnutty, I think you were right in the first place and a French double at 47%26quot; would be too close for comfort!!

|||

Not that it matters that much but just to set the record straight:

French double = 130 cm = 52 inches

A bed of 120 cm wide is unheard of.

Check out the www.paris-sleeps.com site. There is one for 6 that might interest you.

Good luck
