Reservations

Do most restauran%26#39;s need reservations or can you walk into most, after maybe one catching your eye?

Also, would dark jeans, jumper and shoes/trainers be acceptable clothing?

That would depend on the type of restaurant; but normally reservations are not really necessary. And as long as you don%26#39;t look like a bum, you%26#39;ll usually get a table - as long as there%26#39;s room.

All restaurants in France are required by law to show their prices at the entrance - the idea being that passers-by can check out what the restaurant is serving and for what price.

But if want to eat in a specific, popular, restaurant, it%26#39;s always safe to make reservations. And the more expensive, upmarket restaurants may require proper dress.

You will never regret having called in advance.

I find that if you make reservations you are given a little more preference. There are brasseries and cafes that don%26#39;t need reservations, very casual places. But it%26#39;s better to make reservations at restaurants especially at more popular places. Some do require reservations in advance anyhow.

Your dress depends on the place you are dining at. It would be best not to wear trainers unless it%26#39;s a really casual place. Yeah, jeans and jumpers are allright unless it%26#39;s a formal restaurant of course.
