Transportation from Nice area to Paris

I will be traveling from Nice to Paris. I was wondering if anyone knew what type of transportation is best: plane or train? Where could I go to book? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Train would be slightly slower (ca. 5 hours city to city) but far less hassle. You enter the train in nice and leave it in Paris, without all the dumb procedures one has to be subjected at an airport. You can buy tickets at www.voyages-sncf.com, or simply in Nice (or any other French station) a couple of days before travelling.

With a discount airline such as Easyjet (www.easyjet.com) you can shave off about an hour from the overall travel time but have the transport to and from the airport (costs!), security, luggage restrictions... but if you are lucky it might be somewhat cheaper than the train.

My daughters and I took the night train between Paris and Nice. It left about 8 or 9 p.m. and arrived at 8 a.m. That left us a lot more time for sightseeing, plus it was kind of fun to sleep on a train. We didn%26#39;t get a great night%26#39;s sleep, but it was a cool experience.

Flying is the easiest and quickest, especially if you are toting more than just a little luggage. The flight is about 1-1/2 hours, and if you fly into Orly it%26#39;s only about a 20-minute taxi or RER ride into the center of Paris. The last time I checked the travel time by train from Nice to Paris was more like 6 hours. When we fly we usually take a 10 a.m. flight, which gets us into Paris just about the time our hotel room is ready.
