Steak house in Paris

Hello,

I had visited Paris a couple of years ago and we went to this steak house at Porte Maillot (close to the metro station). It was the best steak I have eaten in ages. A friend of mine is visiting and I want to recommend this restaurant to her but I just dont remember the name. The restaurant (if I remember well) served only steaks and fries and is situated right at the beginning of a street...Rue de Débarcader I think! Does someone know this restaurant?

Thanks for your help!

Could this be the place? …webcity.fr/restaurants_paris/…Profil-Lieu

Relais de Venise 271, blvd Pereire, 17th. Métro: Porte Maillot.

%26quot;%26quot;Simply the best steak you will ever have. No menu here, everyone gets the same thing. A Walnut salad followed by 2 helpings of thinly sliced steak with crispy fries. No bookings accepted and you may need to queue, but it will be worth it.%26quot;%26quot;

There are several l%26#39;Entrecote de Paris restos scattered throughout Paris. I have always thought of the one on rue Pereire as the %26quot;original%26quot;, since the other %26quot;originals%26quot; at Les Halles (now a Pizza Hut) and Pigalle (now the strip bar across from the Moulin Rouge) are no longer around, but there are still others. You might find one that%26#39;s more convenient to your hotel. The first two I%26#39;ve listed below are faithful to the original concept:

20 bis, Rue St-Benoit (6th)

Metro: Odeon

phone: 014-549-1600

15, Rue Marbeuf, (8th)

Metro: Franklin D. Roosevelt

phone: 014-952-0717

There is also one at 38, Rue St Denis (1st) Metro: Chatelet-Les Halles, phone: 01 40 28 95 30. This one has a full menu as well as the traditional steak-frites, but I ate there a few weeks ago and wasn%26#39;t impressed.

There used to be one across from the Gare St Lazare, but I can%26#39;t find it Pages Jaunes, so I%26#39;m not sure if it%26#39;s still around. I also have a card that lists one at 32, Ave du Maine near Montparnasse and a few others, but I can%26#39;t verify online that they%26#39;re still open either.

Thank you very much... The one in the 6th, is that one that only has the steak and fries? Everyone gets the same thing?

Yes the one in the 6th is entrecote frites only. You are served both twice. It%26#39;s very good and has a fairly upscale clientele.
