Good casual eateries in 6eme?

We are staying for a week in the 6th. My first time staying in that part of Paris. But we are looking forward to really spending some quality time in the area.

Could you please let me have any recommendations for places with great food, but not stuffy/10-course places? We are not looking for cheap places, but some place relaxing and casual with great food.

Thank you.

I just love the food and decoration and service at the Petit Zinc, nice decoration from 1900, not stuffy, they don%26#39;t look down on you, the menu is about 30 or 33 euros if i remember well.

Check out the post that should still be on this page for the Mayet... I give a list of about 8 good neighborhood places, primarily in the 6th. In Addition:

I love the Cigale Recamier. It has a light, airy atmosphere, which is good because the house specialty is light, airy souffles. The food is always excellent and the prices reasonable.

Au Sauvignon is a neighborhood wine bar. We sometimes go there for a VERY light supper (bread and salami and cheese) and conviviality.

We also head to the Relais de L%26#39;Entrecote. It is JUST steak and fries. The waitress does not ask what you%26#39;d like to order but rather, how do you want it done? This place is fun and easy. It is popular with tourists, but I go there when I don%26#39;t care and just want a really good steak with some really good fries. Desserts are excellent.

The lentil soup with fois gras at Le Polidor (south of Odeon in the 6th) is to die for. Polidor is not expensive, is informal and warm, serves good, hearty dishes from the southwest, and is one of the oldest restaurants in the city.

Crémerie Restaurant Polidor

41 rue Monsieur-Le-Prince 75005

try LE ROUGE VIF 48 rue de verneuil in the 7th...01.42.86.81.87...we discovered it late in our stay last march, but we liked it so much that we went back again before we left paris...it%26#39;s on our list for another wonderful dinner when we return in march..the restaurant has a very friendly neighborhood feel to it...

bon appetit...
