Telling the Time

In Paris, do people more commonly use the 24 hr (military) system for times, or is it more like the States? I%26#39;d like to make sense while making reservations in case I have to use my emergency use only French!

In general, 24h time.

most store hours(on the sings and everything) and such are in 24h time. Just remember if the numer is greater than 12, subtract 12 and that gives you the hour.

24 hour time notations are the most frequently used...so get yourself into the habit of recognizing and using 24 hour, Universal Military Time(UMT) time. To make the translation into UMT--subtracting or adding 12 to or from PM time notations.

You will also have to adjust to a different method of DATE notation. The US standard notation is: MONTH - DAY - YEAR (Jan 10, 2006--01/10/06) The European standard notation is: DAY - MONTH - YEAR (10/01/06)
