paris apartment rentals

can anyone recommend a website with apartment rentals in paris? we would like to stay from 26th dec to 1st/2nd jan, and it%26#39;s proving difficult to find somewhere available!

otherwise a decent budget hotel that is centrally located?

There are numerous sites for hotel searches. One would be laterooms. Click %26#39;central%26#39; for location and shop around. It%26#39;s difficult to make suggestions without knowing what you mean by %26#39;budget%26#39; and the most popular hotels are likely to be booked already.

As for appartments, please do a search here on the forum by typing in %26#39;apartment rental%26#39; into the search box. You will pull up lots and lot of suggestions. However and again, some places that appeal to you may already be reserved for that particular period.

Bonne chance and have a great time!

We%26#39;ve happily used Chez Vous (http://www.chezvous.com) in the past for apartment rentals, but I wouldn%26#39;t describe their prices as budget.

For a good budget hotel, we were very happy at the Hotel Castex near the Bastille. The normal rate is 140 euro but it%26#39;s down to 120 for a double because of the off season. Also, they will give you the fifth night for free -- so the average price per night was 100 euro for our five night stay. We also got breakfast for free because of our Rick Steves guidebook. The rooms were clean, well decorated, and overall very nice by European standards (a little on the small side and the shower left something to be desired, but I find this to be par for the course). The location was great -- only a couple of blocks from the Bastille and the metro. It was also near great eating and shopping as well as a short walk from the Seine and Ille St. Loius.

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

The reason I prefer to give hotel search sites rather than particular hotels, especially that late, is the risk that the recommended place(s) are already full.

Just tried for the Castex. No availability. It%26#39;s by far not off-season, the prices are the very normal ones, especially the nights of December 29, 30 and 31 for lots of hotels. Lots of French come to Paris to visit the city, family or friends.

If you performed a search, like CocoChanel suggested, you will already find my recommendation for renting apartments, but just in case, I am happy to recommend:

www.vrbo.com

http://www.homelidays.com

http://www.all-paris-apartments.com/en/

http://www.parissweethome.com

http://www.apartexchange.com/

http://vacation.apartment-paris.com

There%26#39;s even more sites in addition to these. You%26#39;ll find apartments for every budget.

My family has rented a 4 bedroom apartment Dec. 27-Jan. 3 through www.feelslikehomeinparis.com. I don%26#39;t believe the site has many apartments, but Yetunde, who runs the site/agency, has been exceptionally helpful. Worth checking out. I also contacted some of the other sites mentioned by other members and found them helpful, if not inexpensive. Also suggest going to craigslist -- you can post your need for an apartment and also search for an apartment.

Thanks for web sites.
