Flying Easyjet to Nice

Someone recommended Easyjet for Paris to Nice trip instead of train. Any feedback on this? Also need a hotel. Considering Wesminster or Le Meridien. Thanks for you comments in advance.

Train is 6:30 hrs ride and is as expensive as flying on Air France. EasyJet has very cheap prices from paris to Nice but you have to consider their bags restrictions (weight and # of bags is limited) against the benefit of their cheap price. If you have lots of bags and don%26#39;t feel like running like to hell to get a good seat in the plane, stick with Air France. They have more than 10 flights a day from Paris (and I think they fly from Orly and CDG).

Westinster and Le Méridien are both very nice hotels, nicely located on the Promenade des Anglais. Westminster has more of an old and traditional touch to it than le Méridien but the latter is closer to the Old Town.

Check on this site in the Hotels section for comments and prices. And if you are coming to Nice during the Carnival reserve ASAP (Carnival ends on Feb.28)

I found easyjet more comfortable and overall better than i had expected, the staff was very friendly, the plane was colourful and it was a very smooth ride!

The weight limit was 18kg i believe, and we had been travelling for 3wks and everything was fine.

I take Easyjet often %26amp; have always had good service, but the limited weight allowance can be problematic for overseas visitors who have packed for a long holiday. On Easyjet, each passenger is permitted one piece of hand baggage, and allowed checked-in baggage to a maximum weight of 20kgs. Easyjet charges a per kilo fee for excess weight over these allowances, and the maximum weight they will allow for a single piece of baggage is 32 kgs. Bear this in mind if you book with them and don%26#39;t usually travel light.

I would definitely take Easyjet rather than the train. It will be quicker and probably cheaper.

I use the airline quite a lot and to various destinations and have not really had problems. Plus the tickets are flexible (you can even change the travel date and/or destination for a fee of less that $20).

HOT TIP. I called Air France. On the net their one ways to Nice were $350+. They have a family rate, when 2 or more travel together. I got a fare of $85 pp with no restrictions. You just have to call sometimes. As good as the net is you still have to try the old fashioned way.

With the train, you%26#39;ve got all the time for yourself. I%26#39;ve tried the two concepts between Nice and Paris, last with precisely EasyJet. I found the total time required not much different. With the train, you go directly from the arrival platform down into the Paris Metro system. Arriving with EasyJet to, in my case, Orly, you need to walk much longer, then take a first shuttle train to a second one ( more walking) and only later connect to the Metro in Paris. Same thing at the beginning. With the train, it%26#39;s suffice to come to the train station minutes before departure and theeś less than a hundred metres to walk before youŕ finally seated. Not so, in terms of time and walking at the airport. I bought the flight tickets well in advance and found them slightly cheaper than the train tickets. By and large, I prefer the trains perhaps because I feel I%26#39;ve already spent a too big portion of my life onboard aircrafts or struck inside airport terminals. This said, the train connexion between the two cities is not yet an ideal one. It%26#39;s only really high-speed from Aix.
