My husband, daughter and I are planning a trip to London and Paris at the end of August and I need help in finding the %26#39;right%26#39; hotel for us. I haven%26#39;t been to Paris in over 20 years and I%26#39;m looking for aplace that my daughter will love. I%26#39;m willing to stay in a small hotel that can accomdate 3 people in one room. I appreciate any suggestions.

Hi

You have to specify your budget and/or some personal preferences in order to give you helpful advice.

Remember that there arent any real triple rooms in Paris; there is either an extra bed or a sofa bed.

Familia hotel in the latin quarter offers triple rooms. It a small ** hotel but it%26#39;s nicely located in the Latin Quarter which is full of restaurants and cafes and it has one of the busiest nightlife of the city.

Having the unversity near there%26#39;s a lot of young people that might catch the attention of your daughter to make new acquaintences.

sorry for not being a little more specific. i%26#39;m looking for a hotel that%26#39;s not going to bankrupt me...something in the $150-200/night range. i%26#39;m finding that the rooms really only accomodate 2 people so a roll away or sofa bed is fine. i also prefer a hotel close to a metro stop. thanks for all of your help.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;something in the $150-200/night range. %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

That price range approximates 130-175 €uro.

Check these hotels (among others) which offer %26#39;..Triples..%26#39; and/or %26#39;Quads%26#39; to suit your requirements

Bear in mind that most of France will be on vacation in August - they get a government mandated vacation in August. (That is also a big vacation month for most of Europe.) I have frankly found Paris a place NOT to visit in August- many places are closed and many of the service people who have to work during that time are not happy about that fact, and I%26#39;ve always theorized the %26quot;rude French%26quot; stories originate from tourists who visit during the month of August. Also be aware that the city will be packed with tourists and the lines will be long to get into museums and the like.

If it were me, I%26#39;d try to go in June before Paris gets too hot. Most of the buildings there are old and lack air conditioning. I am not sure how flexible your schedule is, but I%26#39;d consider going in June if you can. If not, be aware that you may experience a lack of service, closed facilities, etc. during August.

Have fun.

I would like to add my favorite to the list above which is also in the Latin Quarter- Hotel St. Jacques. My 18 year old daughter loved it! It is small, charming, well located on Rue des Ecoles and for a triple should run about 124E a night. The triples are pretty roomy for Europe standards and have one large bed (double/queen) and one single. The movie Charades with Cary Grant was partially filmed there and it does have a romantic feel to it with plastered ornate ceilings and a lot of murals/frescos. RAtes very well on TA.

Thanks, Mascara for your insight. now, i don%26#39;t know what we should do. it%26#39;s like going to disneyworld and standing in hour-long lines to get on a ride; which is exactly what i did in november. now that%26#39;s not to say we didn%26#39;t have a great time but we%26#39;ve also been there 9 times before. as this would be my first time back to paris in 23 years and my husband and daughter%26#39;s first time i want it to be a positive experience. so, in your opinion, if this were your family, would you choose a different destination?

Crowds are going to around whether you go in June or in August. That%26#39;s just part of the tourist season. I imagine that since you are going with your husband and daughter who have never been there, that you are wanting to hit the major sites, and they are generally open year round. A suggestion to avoid long lines is to buy a %26quot;Paris Visite%26quot; or %26quot;Museum and Monument%26quot; card. Either will allow you to skip long lines and the cost covers most sites in Paris and can be purchased for multiple days if desired.

I personally love Paris anytime of year and have had great experiences. First step to avoiding %26quot;rude French%26quot; don%26#39;t be an ignorant/arrogant American and if you don%26#39;t speak French, try and pick up a few phrases and basic words.

|||

I%26#39;d advise you to choose a hotel with air-conditioned rooms for an August visit.

After you think you%26#39;ve got a short list of choices, see if they are covered on www.parisby.com, because that website has more photos than most do.

Have a look at Hotel Favart, a 3 star hotel that have real Triple room in your budget,about 130-140€/night. The hotel is partcularly nice and located near Opera.

You can see it on http://www.hotel-favartopera.com .

There are always tourists in Paris..except maybe in Jaunary and February that is more calm...In August, there are tourists but a lot of Parisian are in holidays, so metro is much more calm and acessible...I stay in Paris during August about 3 years ago and was happy of my stay, so don%26#39;t worry about that!

Have a nice trip!
