Ypres War Graves

Hello,

I am taking a trip to paris in july of this year and would like to visit the war graves in Ypres and was wondering if anyone knew how to get their or how much it would cost?

I would appreciate any help in this area.

Possibly not an easy trip. Ypres (or Ieper) is in Belgium; the nearest big city is Lille (F). There are more topics on this forum about this trip - Use the search function to learn more!

Maybe you can take the Thalys to Lille (1 hour), and then take a train to Ypres via Kortrijk (1-1,5 hours). That way, the trip takes about 3 hours minimum.

There might be some day trips by bus from Paris to Ypres - I didn%26#39;t find them.

Ypres is in Belgium.

You can take the TGV to Lille or go through Brussels with the Thalys.

Ypres is a very pretty little town not too far from Gand (Ghent) or Bruges (Brugge)and also the French border.

Train, depending on when you book it about 100 Euros from Paris.

Discounts if you book early and qualify.

Are you wanting to visit the town itself or war graves in the area? Checking greatwar.co.uk/westfront/cemeteries/index.htm

it looks like you may need to hire a car to get around to the cemeteries, so you could look into Thalys to Lille as suggested, then hire a car from there - viamichelin gives 33km and 41 minutes for the drive from Lille to Ypres/Ieper, which could be more convenient than the train via Courtrai/Kortrijk.
